Add filters to make your data more readable and accessible. Enable relevant columns, disable irrelevant columns, and reorganize their order to call out the most important and useful information. Add groupings to organize your data when needed. How do I use Filters, Columns, and Groupings? Use and customize filters, groupings, and columns in most grid views across most apps in Orion. Utilize filters to exclude or include specific data in the grid, making it easier to narrow the results down to remove information that is not needed. Groupings work like folders and are a way to organize your data to help you locate certain things. Enable, disable, or re-arrange columns to your desired location within the grid to view data that only pertains to your workflow. As a best practice, save your settings after applying your customized view. Review the sections below to learn how to customize, save your view, and maximize efficiency! There are currently two different slick grid views throughout Orion. If the view you are working with looks like the one below, please refer to the View A section of this article. If the view you are working with looks like the one below, please refer to the View B section of this article. View A Create Filters Use Case: Create a filter to view households with a current value of $500,000 or more. Underneath the Filters dropdown, select Add Filters. (1) Select the variable you would like to filter by.(2) Set the filter parameters (equal to, greater than, less than, etc.)(3) Input the value or result you're filtering for. Following the use case above, this filter is set to: Current Value is greater than or equal to 500000. Then, press Add. If you click Done, that will collapse the Filters dropdown. Double-click on the filter to remove it. What does the grid view look like after applying the filter? Back To Top Enable, Disable, or Re-arrange Columns Use Case: Enable the "Cancel Date" column for easier account auditing. Under the Columns dropdown, select Show Disabled Columns. To add columns, check the box next to one that is currently not checked. To remove columns, uncheck the box next to the currently checked column. Re-arrange them to your desired location by dragging and dropping them in place. Following the use case above, check the box next to Cancel Date and move it directly after the Active column. This helps you locate any accounts that are inactive but not correctly canceled. What does the grid view look like after enabling/disabling columns? Back To Top Create Groupings Use Case: Create a grouping that shows the account ID and value of the account at the asset level. (1) Determine what you would like to group by. Following the use case above, select Account ID. (2) Select if you would like the order to be ascending, descending, etc. Then, click Yes or No for Collapsed depending on if you want the grouping to be collapsed or not. Following the use case above, select item count (asc). (3) Determine if you want any column aggregators. Following the use case above, click the None button next to Value until it shows Sum. This allows you to view the sum of all assets within that account. Check the box next to Visible when collapsed to view the account value when the grouping is collapsed. Press Add. If you click Done, that collapses the Groupings dropdown. Double-click on a grouping to remove it. Click Expand or Collapse to change the view in the grid. What does the grid view look like after applying groupings? Back To Top Save Your Custom View Save or create a new view to save the changes you made to filters, columns, or groupings. Above the Filters, Columns, and Groupings dropdowns: Click on the pencil icon and select Save As New View. If you want to add this to an existing view, click on the dropdown next to the pencil icon and select the corresponding view. Then, click on the pencil icon and select Save Changes. Enter a Name for the view and select either Private or Global for visibility. Private means that this view is only for you, whereas Global means that anyone within your Firm who has access to your database can use the custom view you created. If you would like to make this view your default, check the box next to Set as Default. Back To Top View B Create Filters Use Case: Create a filter to view only bills with a Complete status. To create a filter, first, click on the Filters button at the top of the grid, then: Select Add Filter.Search for or scroll through the list and select the variable you want to filter by. Use case example, select Status. Select the filter parameter (is, is not, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, is empty, is not empty). Use case example: select is. Type in the value or result you want to filter by. Use case example: select Complete. To remove a filter, click the " X " next to the filter. Back To Top Enable, Disable, or Re-arrange Columns Use Case: Rearrange the Status, Run For, and Run for Accounts columns. Click on the Columns option at the top of the grid to display the column selector. Search for or scroll through the list to find specific columns. To enable a column, click on its slider so that it is blue with a checkmark.Click the Show All option to enable all of the columns. To disable a column, click on the slider so that it is grayed out. Click the Hide All option to disable all of the columns. To rearrange the columns, click on a column and drag it to where you want it to be. Back To Top Create Groupings Use Case: Group the bills by status to find and review specific bills easily. Click on the Group option at the top of the grid to display the modal. Click the Add Grouping button to create a grouping. Select the variable to group by. Collapse all groupings or expand all groupings by using the Collapse All and Expand All options. To remove a grouping, click the " X " next to the grouping. Back To Top Save Your Custom View Click the Standard View dropdown in the upper left corner above the grid. Previously created custom views appear in this dropdown as well. To create a new view, click Create New View. Enter a name for the view, then click the checkmark. After you have named the view, click the triple dot icon to see the options. Edit View Name: edit the name of the view. Set As Default: select this option for the view you want to see as the default each time you navigate to this grid.Delete View: delete the view. Please Note: Each user must create and save their own custom views. Additional Customization Each column has additional sizing and filtering options. Hover over the column header, and click the hamburger icon next to the header. Click on to Customize Columns Pin Column to left or right.Autosize this column.Autosize all columns.Reset column sizes. Click on to Filter Rows Select the filter parameter you want to use.Type in the Value you want to filter by. Click on to Show and Hide Columns Use the search box to search for column options.Use the filter checkbox to show or hide columns from the grid.
